Nova Scotia Coins, 1861-64

Half cent coins weigh 2.84 grams with a diameter of 20.65 mm and have a composition of .95 copper, .04 tin, .01 zinc; One cent coins weigh 5.67 grams with a diameter of 25.53 mm and have a composition of .95 copper, .04 tin, .01 zinc.

The half cent used the same obverse as the British farthing. The reverse had the royal crown surrounded by a wreath of both roses and mayflowers. The one cent had the same obverse as the British halfpenny. The reverse design are similar to that used for the half cent.
