Coins weigh 1.167 grams, with a diameter of 15.494 mm. They have a composition of (1911-1919) .925 silver, .075 copper (1920-1921) .800 silver, .200 copper.
Two different varieties of the obverse exist, the 1911 "Godless" version without the phrase DEI GRATIA and the 1912-21 version with the DEI GRA.
